o SSNRIs – Selective Serotonin and Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors increases the amount of both Serotonin and Norepinephrine.
o TRYCYCLICS – affect the levels of two neurotransmitters in the brain; norepinephrine and Serotonin in the brain. These have more side effects than other antidepressants.
Herbal Treatments are becoming more common treatments for Depression and are taken more in the form of supplements. Specific herbs that are known to have a positive effect on mood/depression are mixed in a specific formula.
